The cardiovascular system consists of the heart, the aorta, the systemic arteries, and the pulmonary arteries. Impairment of this system includes abnormal elevation of pressure either in the aorta, which is called systemic hypertension, or in the pulmonary artery, which is called pulmonary hypertension. The coronary and peripheral circulations are considered to be part of the cardiovascular system. Impairment from disorders of the cerebral circulation is considered in the chapter on the nervous system. RD 9/26/2023 UL https://doi.org/10.1001/amaguides.4th.cardio
